Gunner Security’s ITP holsters fit a wide range of concealment needs. Inside the pant gun holsters are a very affordable concealment option for your firearm. These holsters will fit a wide variety of pistols and are therefore a very popular method of concealed carry. The ITP holster provides many benefits to the carrier including concealment, accessibility, security, and comfort (yes, comfort!).

This holster style is generally carried at the waistline between the pant and body. But it may also be carried between the belt and the pant. This natural tension when the holster is inside the pant generally provides great weapon retention and therefore most ITPs don’t have retention straps, although they are available.

ITP Holster Attachment Styles

The ITP holster can be held in place in a variety of ways. Probably the most common is a steel clip that goes over the edge of the pant and grips onto the belt. The holster isn’t actually attached. The steel spring clip simply grips the pant and belt. This generally provides great retention allowing the weapon to be drawn while the holster stays in place. Another popular style is the J-Hook which is a clip that goes from the holster over the edge of the pant and has the belt resting in a groove in the clip. Again this keeps the holster from being pulled up when the weapon is drawn.

There are a number of different attachment styles but some holsters have no attachment device. This would be an ITP holster that simply sits between the pant and the body, held in place only by the tension of the pant and belt. So when it comes to holding the holster in place, customers have many choices available.

Where to Carry

An important decision for the wearer is to decide where on the waistline to carry their weapon. The wide variety of ITP holsters available allows people to carry a weapon nearly anywhere around the waist. An appendix carry is generally right below the stomach or just off of the center line. Many people carry in the back either in the small of the back or just off to the side – 5 or 7 O’clock. The keys will be comfort and accessibility so it often requires a little practice to find the right spot. And that spot may be different for different activities.

Materials

As with other holster styles, ITP holsters come in a variety of materials.  The material may be particularly important in this style of holster as it may at least in part be touching the skin of the user. Resistance to sweat and a comfortable material may be a concern for many people. You can find ITP holster made from nylon, leather, rubberized materials and more. There is no lack of choices for customers when it comes to the construction of ITP holsters.

Putting It All Together

The great thing about using an ITP holster is that there are so many benefits and options! You need to consider the material and attachment mechanism that works best for you, in concert with where on your waist the weapon will reside. Once you’ve made a choice (or two) the next step is to practice carrying your weapon and drawing it! Practice, practice, practice!
