Viridian Green Lasers

Are Viridian Green Lasers Worth The Price?

Viridian has been making green lasers for a long time and they just about wrote the book on how to do it. Their products have been through a few design changes and what they have on today’s market shows they know what they are doing.

Sure, green lasers use to suck down battery juice faster than a camel drinking water in the Sahara desert, plus they experienced heat issues. As most of you know, high temperatures and electronic devices do not play well together. Viridian solved these issues years ago.

At the gun shows, the common question is “why is green better?” It’s simple science. The visible light spectrum most humans see is from near infra red to near ultraviolet. Red is close to infrared and some of us do not see red very well. Green, on the other hand, is in the middle of the spectrum, which is why we see it better.

Viridian has laser four models available and three of which include a green laser. All of the laser models can be programmed for a solid beam or set to pulse at different speeds. Once the unit has been programmed, a single tap of the ambidextrous button turns it on.

All four models include a universal rail mount system that fits just about any gun with a standard rail mount, making it easy to mount or move the unit to a different gun. All of the models can be mounted on handguns, rifles or shotguns that have a standard Picatinny or Weaver rail.

Viridian models:

Viridian X5L Green Laser
The largest, but lowest profile Viridian model is the X5L. This laser/flashlight combo is built for full size handguns, rifles and shotguns. It has the brightest flashlight at 154 lumens when set to solid mode and 187 lumens on strobe. They are tough to find at times and the ones I ordered took over 8 months to arrive. What’s unique about the X5L laser is it has an infinite amount of customization. You can customize the flashlight lumen intensity, the flashlight strobe speed and the laser strobe speed.  Powered by 1 CR123A 3V battery which provides Run time is up to 10+ hours with laser pulse, 6 + hours with laser solid and 1 hour of laser and flashlight. List Price: $409.00

Viridian C5L Green LaserThe most popular is the Viridian C5L. This laser/flashlight combo is built for compact to full size handguns, rifles and shotguns. The ‘L’ in the model name stands for light and the C5L has includes a 100 lumen flashlight. The flashlight can also be set to solid mode or 3 strobe speeds. The visible green laser distance is up to 100 yards daytime and 2 miles at night. Powered by 1 CR2 3V battery which provides 4+ hours when the laser is in constant mode, 7+ hours when it in pulse mode and 1+ hour with laser and flashlight.  List price is $349.00

Viridian C5 Green Laser

The Virdian C5 is the C5L except it does not include the flashlight. The laser can be set to solid mode or 4 strobe speeds. Powered by 1 CR2 3V battery which provides 4+ hours when the laser is in constant mode, 7+ hours when it in pulse mode.  List price is $279.00

Viridian_CTL_Flashlight_only
The CTL is Viridian’s newest model.  There is no laser but it does have a flashlight that’s rated at 100 lumens on solid mode or 140 on one of its 3 strobe speeds. Powered by 1 CR2 3V battery which provides 1 hour of solid or strobe modes.  List price is $169.00

The C5L, C5 and CTL share the same design, but as you can see, Viridian has provided you with a small buffet of options.

Viridian lasers are expensive, but their high standards are reflected in the quality of their products.
