Rail Mounts for a Laser on Flashlight or Pistol

How can I mount a laser or flashlight on my pistol that does not have a rail mount?

That’s a great question and one we hear a lot at the gun shows. With the huge number of firearms available on the market, it’s no surprise some pistols are still not made with a rail mount accessory adapter.

Some handgun manufacturers, such as Colt, Beretta, Sig Sauer and Taurus have recently modified their design to include a Picatinny accessory rail adapter, allowing the owner to mount hundreds of different accessories such as lasers, flashlights or laser/flashlight combos but what about the older hand guns?

Thankfully, a few manufacturers produce accessory adapters that mount beneath the pistol barrel. These adapters are usually constructed out of aluminum or high end plastic and once installed; allow you to mount an accessory.

Aluminum rail mount adapters are light weight and inexpensive but can destroy part of your guns finish, such as the one offered by NcStar. I have heard horror stories of how this inexpensive adapter left numerous scratch marks and gouges on pistols, some costing $1,000 or more. To get around the scratching and marring of your gun’s finish, Gunner Security offers unique high end rail accessory adapters for 1911 and Beretta/Taurus handguns made from Delrin.

Rail AdapterDelrin is an incredibly strong plastic from the medical industry and is very resistant to cracks, temperature, warping and will not damage the guns finish. This rail mount adapter is designed to stay mounted to the pistol or can be setup to easily snap on or off while the accessory remains attached to the adapter. The Sig Sauer version of this adapter is used by and endorsed by the Navy Seals. These types of adapters have undergone numerous tests and are recommended by military and law enforcement departments. Smith & Wesson accessory rail adapterIf you own a Smith & Wesson Sigma, the rail mount is not a standard Picatinny accessory rail, making it difficult to add most accessories. Thankfully Gunner Security has an adapter at a great price. Get more info on this sigma rail adapter.

Shotgun Rail Mount Accessory AdapterDo you need to set up your tactical or home defense shotgun for maximum versatility? How about a light weight and durable Tri-Rail Mounting System? This shotgun rail mount adapter mounts on the magazine tube of most popular 12-gauge pump shotguns. The Tri-Rail takes up under 1.5 inches of space ahead of the forearm. Made of tough aircraft grade aluminum with a matte black anodized finish, the shotgun Tri-Rail adapter attaches in minutes with two machine screws. This shotgun mount allows you to use most of the flashlights or the red/green lasers we have available on GunnerSecurity.com. See more info on our Shot Gun Rail Adapter.

Lasermax revolver laserFor those of you who have a revolver, it gets a bit more challenging to mount a laser. Very few revolvers currently have a Picatinny rail accessory adapter. The good news is Gunner Security offers an inexpensive, high quality side mount laser for Taurus and Smith & Wesson revolvers.

This laser can even be mounted on the Taurus Judge that shoots 410 Shotgun shells or 45 caliber rounds. With a revolver with that firepower, you know this laser can take a beating. Unlike Crimson Trace when you have to change out your grips, this laser mounts in a few minutes using your existing frame screw holes, allowing you to keep your existing grips.
