Belly Band Holster

A Belly Band Gun Holster consists of a wide elastic strap that goes around the wearer’s waist. On one side of the strap will be a holster and on the other side will be a single or double mag pouch. The belly band is generally worn about belt level, inside the waistband. However, one of the advantages of a belly band is that it can be worn at belt level or as high as you’d like to carry it. As a result, when worn at belt level the tension of the pants (and belt if used) help to keep the weapon retained in it’s proper place. However, the bands we carry have either a retention strap or a thumb break depending on the style. And both of these can be used or not as they are held in place with Velcro.

Furthermore, belly bands can be worn by men or women. Often a good choice for women as it gives the wearer great flexibility in where around the waist to position the weapon. Additionally, it will fit a variety of weapon sizes, accommodating the weapon you want to carry concealed.

2 Styles of Belly Band Holsters

Most belly bands hold the weapon vertically and can be worn with the weapon positioned just about anywhere around the inside of the waistband. This allows for a regular, strong side draw. However, moving the holster and weapon to the opposite side allows for a cross draw if that is your preference. An alternative style is the ‘behind the back’ belly band which puts the weapon in the small of the back, sitting horizontally with the butt of the gun pointing up. This style is still worn at waist level although it is generally worn outside the waistband as this is necessary to have access to the weapon. Hence, this is a popular style with motorcyclists and others enjoying the outdoors. The weapon is out of the way, readily concealed with a jacket or vest, and yet easily accessible.

Materials

The belly band holsters we carry are made from breathable, stretchable elastic. All attachments use Velcro in order to avoid the use of metal studs etc. The holster pouch and the mag pouch are sewn directly into the main elastic band. All belly bands are black which aids in concealment.

So maybe it’s time to try a belly band! They are light, flexible, comfortable, and provide great concealment. And the best belly band holster is the one that gives you the physical and psychological comfort you want when you carry your weapon!

So a belly band holster offers several benefits for individuals who choose to carry concealed. Here are some advantages of using a belly band holster:

  1. Versatility: Belly bands are highly versatile and can be worn in various positions around the torso. This flexibility allows individuals to choose the most comfortable and discreet location for carrying their firearm.
  2. Deep Concealment: Belly bands provide deep concealment, allowing the wearer to conceal a firearm under a variety of clothing styles, including loose shirts, dresses, or workout attire. This makes it an excellent choice for concealed carry without printing or revealing the presence of a firearm.
  3. Adjustability: Most belly bands are adjustable, allowing users to customize the fit to their body size and shape. This adaptability ensures a secure and comfortable fit, preventing the holster from shifting during movement.
  4. Accessibility: Belly band holsters provide quick and easy access to the firearm. The position on the torso allows for a natural and intuitive draw, minimizing the time it takes to respond to a potential threat.
  5. Comfort: Many users find belly bands to be comfortable for extended periods of wear. The wide, elastic band distributes the weight of the firearm evenly, reducing pressure points and discomfort associated with some other holster types.
  6. Ambidextrous Design: Belly bands are often designed to be ambidextrous, allowing both right- and left-handed individuals to use them effectively. This makes them suitable for a wide range of users.
  7. Additional Pockets: Some belly bands come with extra pockets or compartments for carrying additional items such as spare magazines, a knife, or a small flashlight. This can contribute to an efficient and organized concealed carry setup.
  8. Adaptability to Different Firearms: Belly bands can accommodate various types and sizes of firearms, making them suitable for individuals who own multiple handguns. The holster can securely hold compact or subcompact pistols as well as larger models.
  9. Concealed Carry During Physical Activities: The snug fit of a belly band makes it suitable for concealed carry during physical activities such as jogging, biking, or other forms of exercise where traditional holsters might be less practical.

While belly bands offer these advantages, it’s essential for users to practice drawing and holstering their firearm safely to ensure proficiency and minimize the risk of accidents. Additionally, adherence to local laws and regulations regarding concealed carry is crucial.
